IMAGINE AMERICA FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES ACQUSITION
OF CAREER COLLEGE CENTRAL MAGAZINE

Washington, D.C. – (Aug. 17, 2015) – The career education sector’s seminal news magazine now has a new publisher.

The Imagine America Foundation (IAF) announced today that it has acquired Career College Central from its original creator and publisher, PlattForm.

IAF, which has been a longtime supporter of the bi-monthly print publication and its website, www.careercollegecentral.com, attained the magazine through a unique arrangement with the advertising agency. The Foundation will direct the development of the magazine’s editorial direction, layout, publishing and business strategy of the magazine while PlattForm will donate its creative services and continue to execute the publication’s design and content proofing.

Since Career College Central’s first issue in 2006, the news magazine and its related website have served as a source of information, action, perspective, communication and education specific to those involved in career-oriented education. The Foundation will provide Career College Central access to thousands of students that IAF supports every year with its scholarship award programs, which help the magazine provide a stronger voice to its most valued commodity: students and graduates. The Foundation’s wealth of research studies and student surveys will also give the magazine a deep background of insights and information to draw from for its feature content.

The current magazine format and content focus will remain largely the same, though more editorial emphasis will be placed on the growing job markets, new career fields, and trends in the realm of employment will take center stage.

“From Day One, we have believed in the mission of Career College Central and the need for our sector to have a news and editorial resource it could rally around,” said Foundation President Robert L. Martin said. “Our hope is to make the magazine a can’t-miss read every edition with the articles providing insights and critical information for our schools that can’t be found anywhere else.”

The Foundation plans to move forward with the magazine’s current publishing schedule beginning with the September/October edition. A redesign of the publication and new editorial focus are planned for January 2016.

The Career College Central editorial staff will continue to be led by longtime editor Kevin Kuzma. All of the magazine’s regular contributors will remain on staff.

“One of our greatest strengths as a magazine staff is the ability to tell the stories of our students,” Kuzma said. “Many of them have overcome tremendous challenges in their lives to make something of themselves through career education. The Foundation’s acquisition of the magazine is great news for us, for the students we write about, and for our school leaders who need a resource to share with them information that can serve as breakthroughs for their operations.”
